The Only Thing Constant Is Change!
Time has come and gone. There have been many, many changes this year, so my apologies to the virtual audience for Words & Unwords. Currently I have several online stores -- CafePress, Zazzle, and Skreened -- and am trying to see what will work for the upcoming xMas season. It is no surprise that online graphic artists and marketers have moved away from CafePress to other print-on-demand providers due to their policy changes earlier this year. No matter. It will always be onward and upward. You can find my current designs online at http://www.zazzle.com/wordsunwords*. In addition, I am trying to build a different brand about quotable quotes -- hence, the birth of Unfinished Polis. You can find it at http://www.zazzle.com/unfinishedpolis*
A larger question looms about whether I should utilize WordPress or Joomla, the content management system to build Words & Unwords, as well as Unfinished Polis. This important decision will occur in early 2010. Until then, I'll be using Blogger as a blogging tool.
I couldn't help but think about the Nobel Peace Prize recipients of yesteryear. One of the United States Presidents that is so quotable is none other than trust-busting outdoorsman progressive Theodore Roosevelt, winner of the 1906 Nobel Peace Prize. At the turn of the twentieth century, he inspired so many with his thoughts and deeds, so much so that he's on Mount Rushmore.
You can find gifts of his most quotable quotes in my Unfinished Polis store:

Photosynthetic fun for Earth Day fans
Earth Day is coming and what a way to celebrate other than with some photosynthetic humor gifts! It's been a while since I studied photosynthesis. For anyone who's been exposed to the light reactions and the dark reactions, there will be plenty of food for thought, whether it's a wry humor saying with regard to the energy crisis or the usual carbon dioxide intake that plants just seem to do. Think energy - think photosynthesis!

Magnetic Quadrupole Moment
I've been away and designing for the past few months. I recently did some designs with the magnetic quadrupole moment. In physics, moment is synonymous with torque or the force that is involved in rotational moment. Of course, to a regular person, a moment is probably referred to as a fleeting moment of time. Enjoy any of these unique, wry magnetic field humor designs.

Just A Toroid -- Topology in Perspective
I got fascinated with topology recently -- the thought that a donut hole and a cup is basically the same toroid is somewhat mind bending in and of itself. Geometry enthusiasts will enjoy any of these toroidial (is that a proper adjective?) gifts at Words & Unwords under the section, Another Dimension (Geometry).

Optical Illusions - Putting A Complete Picture Together
Artists are always interested in negative space and positive space. Optical illusions are generally created from looking at different pieces of a picture -- which has both positive space and negative space -- and allowing an image to appear from the patterns. For your optical illusion gifts, ranging from the classic Devil's Pitch Fork to the emergent Dalmatian, check out Words & Words (www.wordsandunwords.com) in the Illusory Illusions section!

Is A New Deal really needed?
All this talk of expanding government powers and the current trying economic times reminds me of the expansion of presidential powers that occurred during Franklin Delano Roosevelt's various administrations. To celebrate FDR's contribution, check out the F.D.R. gifts available at Words & Unwords in the Intellectual section.

Nothing like Stats, Stats & More Stats!
After studying statistics way back when, I completely understood that there was a goldmine of humor to be found in looking at the world in a statistical manner. It is helpful to think in a linear manner, but not all subjects in life can be reduced to a datapoint. Explore the funny side of stats at the section called Stats, Stats & More Stats! at Words & Unwords (www.wordsandunwords.com):
