I got fascinated with topology recently -- the thought that a donut hole and a cup is basically the same toroid is somewhat mind bending in and of itself. Geometry enthusiasts will enjoy any of these toroidial (is that a proper adjective?) gifts at Words & Unwords under the section, Another Dimension (Geometry).

Optical Illusions - Putting A Complete Picture Together
Artists are always interested in negative space and positive space. Optical illusions are generally created from looking at different pieces of a picture -- which has both positive space and negative space -- and allowing an image to appear from the patterns. For your optical illusion gifts, ranging from the classic Devil's Pitch Fork to the emergent Dalmatian, check out Words & Words (www.wordsandunwords.com) in the Illusory Illusions section!
